I went to Georgia Southern University for my first two years - I got all the required 'freshman' core classes completed. I recommend doing your first year or two at a smaller school b/c the class sizes for calculus I and physics are much smaller and student focused.

Having spoken with the directors of admissions several times, there are a few things you should know about their process. First, they don't take your senior year into account. If I remember correctly, they ask for your classes, but they don't look for grades or any of that. Secondly, they are a pretty nice group of people. They only have so many spots to offer, and consequently they have to turn people down, but as a general rule, if they are unsure whether or not to admit a person, they typically will admit them. If the person isn't a good match with the university, they typically transfer after a year and no one ends up the worse. If they were a good match, someone that otherwise wouldn't have had the opportunity to go Tech is able to. It's a win-win situation. Best of luck!

If you are really really really set on getting into this school, then I would suggest having very good SAT scores and a pretty good GPA in high school. I was somewhat involved in my community throughout high school, and I had a couple of clubs I was a member of. My average in high school was about a 92 weighted, 90 unweighted. I also went to one of the top school in my area, so that may have had some weight in their decision. My biggest suggestion would be to visit the school and talk to the people in charge of admissions and find out what they are looking for.
